America’s Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3rd-6th. The purpose of this program is to help children find the joy of reading while exploring a variety of books they may not ordinarily gravitate towards.
Students are given a list of 20 books to read throughout the year. They are encouraged to work with their peers to read all 20 books to be prepared to “Battle” with other teams. Each classroom has a full set of these books. They are also available in the school library, the public library and through SORA, a free reading app sponsored by Jordan School District.
